What is a 3D Graphic Designer?

A 3D Graphic Designer creates graphics that are used in a three dimensional medium. This can include things like designing objects or scenes for video games, creating models or illustrations for advertising or product packaging, and creating rendering visuals for films and commercials. A typical day during which they would be working might involve first spending time studying the project at hand to get an understanding of what is desired, then beginning to create preliminary sketches and ideas using various computer-aided design (CAD) programs. Once these initial concepts have been created it may be necessary to convert them into high resolution files suitable for printing out on large scale so that proper measurements can be taken into account when constructing the final object/sketch. After this stage has been completed it's likely there will still be some editing required before finishing touches such as color correction are added; however overall this person's role is quite fluid from start to finish due to the ever-changing nature of graphic design within today's industry standards.
