A 3D modeling designer creates digital models of physical objects or spaces. They use software to design and create detailed images, animations, and simulations that can be used in product development or marketing materials. Some common tools a 3D modeler may use include Autodesk Inventor, Maya, SolidWorks®, Sketchup®,and Rhino®.
A 3D modeling designer needs to have strong skills in Sketchup and ProBuilder, as well as experience working with CAD software. They should also be familiar with image editing tools such as Photoshop or GIMP, and know how to use polygonal rendering engines like V-Ray or ZBrush. Finally, the designer must have excellent communication and problem solving abilities
1. A strong understanding of 3D modeling software, including the ability to create models from scratch or edit existing ones.
2. Knowledge of design principles and techniques applicable to both 2D and 3D graphics applications, such as perspective drawing, shading, texturing and lighting.
3. Experience creating realistic human figures or objects from scratch using a variety of sculpting toolsets (e.g., ZBrush).
4. Expertise in rendering engines – choosing the right one for the task at hand is essential for realizing high-quality results fast; some popular choices include mental ray and Unreal Engine 4 .
5. Proven experience working with clients on tight deadlines – this may involve collaborating closely with team members across multiple disciplines during concept development and production phases alike
