What is a AC Duct Cleaner?

A duct cleaner is a professional who uses specialized equipment to clean inside and outside air conditioning (AC) ducts. The goal of this cleaning is to reduce the amount of dust, pollen, bacteria, and other allergens in the AC system. Additionally, by taking care of these systems regularly they can minimize the chances that problems will occur such as ice build-up or poor airflow.

What qualifications are required to become a AC Duct Cleaner?

1. A degree in engineering or related field

2. Minimum two years of experience as a duct cleaner

3. Valid clean air certification from an accredited organization such as the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)

4. Must be able to pass a criminal background check

5. Demonstrated proficiency using cleaning equipment, tools, and techniques
