What is a AC Duct Cleaner?

A AC duct cleaner is a device that uses air to clean the inside of your home's ventilation system. This includes both the HVAC (heating, ventilating, and cooling) and exhaust systems.

What qualifications are required to become a AC Duct Cleaner?

1. A minimum of two years experience cleaning ducts and vents is required.

2. Knowledge of AC systems, filters, and louver openings is necessary.

3. Excellent communication skills are a must as they will be working closely with customers during the service call(s).

4. Strong work ethic; willingness to learn new techniques/methodologies; ability to handle difficult customer situations calmly and professionally- these qualities are essential for success as an AC Duct Cleaner!

5. Certification or licensure from an accredited organization such as The National Association Of Air Conditioning Contractors (NACA) or American Society For Testing And Materials (ASTM) is recommended but not mandatory

What are the skills required to become a AC Duct Cleaner?

1. Must be comfortable working with and handling hazardous materials.

2. Strong construction skills are required to service AC ducts, as they can often be structurally complex and in difficult-to-reach places.

3. Familiarity with common tools and equipment used for cleaning AC systems is essential, including vacuum cleaners, ladders, snake eyes/vacuum tube extensions (commonly known as "snake hooks"), etc..

4. Excellent problem solving abilities are also necessary – many times ac system problems cannot be seen until a professional has taken the time to diagnose them using specialized testing equipment or techniques; therefore familiarity with basic diagnostic procedures is advantageous... 5. A high level of professionalism – both verbally and physically - is critical in the field of air conditioning ductwork cleaning
