What is a AC Ductman?

A ductman is a tradesperson who installs, repairs and maintains air conditioning systems. They are responsible for ensuring that the cooling system operates properly and keeping it clean. Ductmen also inspects all components of an AC unit to ensure they meet industry standards.

What qualifications are required to become a AC Ductman?

1. A minimum of 2 years experience in the building and construction industry is required to become a AC Ductman.

2. Must be able to read, write, and understand basic math concepts.

3. Must have excellent communication skills as they will be working with other workers on site frequently.

4. Familiarity with standard tools used in the construction industry (jackhammer, saws, power drills) is necessary for this position; although training can be provided upon hire if needed).

5. Physical stamina as ductwork installation can often involve long periods of standing or climbing

What are the skills required to become a AC Ductman?

1. Strong mechanical skills - to be able to diagnosis and repair AC units

2. Excellent problem solving abilities - in order to find solutions for common problems with AC systems

3. Knowledge of electrical wiring – in order to properly troubleshoot issues related to the electrical system of an AC unit

4. Working knowledge of air conditioning mechanics – so that repairs can be made without damaging the equipment or property involved

5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team - because most repairing and maintenance tasks require cooperation between different parts of an organization
