What is a AC Ductman?

A AC ductman is a person who installs, repairs and maintains air conditioning systems. They work with the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) technicians to ensure that the buildings are keeping their occupants comfortable all year round.

What qualifications are required to become a AC Ductman?

1. A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required to become a AC Ductman.

2. Must have the ability to read, write and speak English fluently.

3. Good physical condition including strength, agility and stamina are essential for this position because it involves working with heavy equipment in tight spaces often exposed to hazards such as heights and moving objects around unexpectedly.

4 certification from an accredited industrial safety training program may be beneficial or mandatory depending on the employer's standards - many employers prefer their ductmen/women hold one of several recognized certifications such as OSHA 10-Year Accredited Safety Professional (ASP) designation or ANSI Z359 C12 Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).

5 Persons interested in becoming AC Ductmans should take courses that teach shop fundamentals, welding techniques, rigging principles, electrical wiring methods and more so they can gain the necessary skill set for success in this field
