What is a AC Ductman?

A ductman is a person who installs, maintains and repairs air conditioning systems. They work in both commercial and residential settings. Ductmen typically have a degree in mechanical engineering or another related field. They must be able to read schematics and understand how the different parts of an AC system interact with one another. Additionally, ductmen are usually proficient in using tools such as hammers, saws andrenches

What qualifications are required to become a AC Ductman?

1. A minimum of two years experience in ductwork installation or maintenance is required to become a AC Ductman.

2. certification as an HVAC technician, certified air conditioning installer, or registered professional engineer in heating and cooling engineering are all desirable qualifications for becoming a AC Ductman.

3. excellent problem-solving skills are essential for the position of AC Ductman as they will be called upon to troubleshoot issues relating to ventilation systems throughout buildings..

4. knowledge of energy efficient building practices and principles is also necessary; this includes understanding how climate controls work within structures and their impact on indoor air quality (IAQ). 5 . The ability to speak both English and Spanish fluently is beneficial because many southern US states have sizable Hispanic populations

What are the skills required to become a AC Ductman?

1. Knowledge of AC systems and how to properly install and maintain them.

2. Ability to read blueprints or schematics for buildings to determine where ductwork is located and what needs fixing/replacing.

3. Working knowledge of metalworking, welding, etc., as necessary in order to repair or replace damaged AC units/ductwork).

4. Excellent problem solving skills; able to identify problems with equipment before they become serious (eavesdropping on maintenance crews can teach you a lot about your unit's condition)
