What is a AC Ductman?

A ductman is someone who installs, maintains and repairs air conditioning systems in buildings. They use a variety of tools to do this, including power drills, saws and screwdrivers. Ductmen often wear protective gear, such as masks and gloves.

What qualifications are required to become a AC Ductman?

1. A valid AC Ductman certification from an accredited organization such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is required.

2. Previous experience in ventilation or HVAC systems would be beneficial, but not required.

3. The ability to read and understand schematics is necessary for many positions within the industry, as ductwork can often be confusingly designed when first encountered by a technician.

4._ Knowledge of basic electrical concepts will also help technicians troubleshoot issues with equipment, particularly if they are working on motors or controllers.

5._ Mechanics skills including those needed to operate heavy machinery are sometimes essential for certain positions within the field; however this isn't always true, so it's important to check beforehand whether any particular requirement applies before applying for a job position here at home or abroad."
