What is a AC Ductman?

A ductman is a specialist in the construction, installation and repair of air conditioning systems. They are responsible for ensuring that all system components operate as intended and meet safety guidelines. Ductmen also maintain records related to AC installations and repairs, which can be used during inspections by authorities such as OSHA.

What qualifications are required to become a AC Ductman?

A. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

B. The AC ductman must be in good physical condition and have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.

C. Experience working with air conditioning systems is preferred, but not necessary for the position.

D.. Minimum qualifications include at least two years of experience repairing or installing heating, cooling, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment including knowledge of refrigerants/fuels used in these systems; familiarity with safety procedures associated with HVAC installation/repair work; ability to read drawings and schematics related to HVAC systems; basic math skills such as fractions calculation).
