What is a AC Ductman?

A ductman is a person who operates and maintains the air conditioning systems in commercial buildings. They are responsible for installing, repairing, or replacing any components of the AC system including fans, filters, coils, and registers. Ductmen may also be called upon to diagnose problems with the AC unit

What qualifications are required to become a AC Ductman?

1. A minimum of 4 years experience in a commercial or industrial setting is required to become an AC Ductman.

2. Must be able to read and understand blue prints, schematics, and CAD drawings related to air conditioning systems

3. Basic knowledge of refrigeration principles is also necessary

4. Strong work ethic & problem solving skills are essential as ductwork can often be difficult to access/repair

5. Demonstrated safety awareness through proper training & certification

What are the skills required to become a AC Ductman?

1. Knowledge of AC units and their operations

2. Strong maintenance skills including knowledge of repairs and replacements

3. Working experience in a construction or mechanical field

4. Excellent communication, problem-solving, coordination, and leadership abilities

5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
