What is a AC Technician?

A technician who services and maintains AC units. May also service heating, cooling, or other systems in a building. Often required to have certification from an accredited organization such as the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

What qualifications are required to become a AC Technician?

1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

2. Experience in a home theater setting is desirable, but not necessary.

3. Must be able to read and write English well enough to complete job applications and technical documentation (if needed).

4. Familiarity with basic electronics principles such as voltage, current, and resistance is helpful but not required for the position of AC Technician..

5. Ability to work independently as well as team oriented

What are the skills required to become a AC Technician?

1. Knowledge of AC systems and repairs

2. Working knowledge of electrical wiring and circuit boards

3. Experience with maintenance schedules and procedures for air conditioning equipment

4. Ability to read schematics, blueprints, or specifications related to AC units
