What is a AC Technician?

An AC Technician is a person who repairs and installs air conditioners. They may also work on furnaces, heat pumps, or other related systems. They typically have a college degree in engineering or another technical field and many years of experience repairing and installing AC units.

What qualifications are required to become a AC Technician?

1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

2. Valid certification as an AC Technician from a professional organization, such as the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), is desired.

3. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are necessary for this position due to the complex nature of air conditioning systems and their components .

4 Experienced in using diagnostic equipment is also beneficial, including tools such as electrical meters and ohmmeters .

5 Above all else, technicians must be customer service oriented; able to work with others in a team environment while exhibiting positive attitudes towards solving problems

What are the skills required to become a AC Technician?

1. Skill in using tools and equipment, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, drills

2. Knowledge of electrical wiring and systems

3. Ability to read schematics or diagrams to troubleshoot problems

4. Experience working with electricity - typically needing a license or certification from the governing body overseeing electric utilities
