What is a AC Technician?

An AC technician is someone who repairs and installs air conditioning systems in homes, businesses, and other places. They may also work on heating and cooling systems.

What qualifications are required to become a AC Technician?

A. A high school diploma or equivalent is required to become a AC Technician.

B. Minimum qualifications include certification in air-conditioning and heating from an industry organization such as the National Electric Code (NEC).

C. Many employers require technicians to have prior experience working with electrical wiring and equipment, which can be acquired through vocational training or on the job experience.

D. Some technician positions may alsorequire specific skills in math, physics, drafting, carpentry/woodworking or computer programming; most schools offer courses related to these areas of specialization for those who wish to pursue them after graduation from high school or initial vocational training programs.
