What is a AC Technician?

A technician who repairs and maintain AC units. May also work on other heating and cooling systems in a building.

What qualifications are required to become a AC Technician?

A. A high school diploma or equivalent is required

B. Certification in air conditioning, heating and refrigeration from an accredited body such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is generally required

C. Experience working with HVAC systems are often beneficial

D. Good problem-solving skills are a must

E. Ability to read schematics and understand wiring diagrams
