What is a AC Technician?

A AC technician is a person who repairs, installs and maintains air conditioning systems. They need to have knowledge of the different types of air conditioning systems as well as electrical wiring in order to properly repair them. They must also be able to read blueprints and schematics in order to understand how an air conditioner works. Additionally, they need good problem solving skills in order to figure out why something isn't working correctly on an AC system

What qualifications are required to become a AC Technician?

1. Some experience in air conditioning repair or maintenance is usually required.

2. A valid license as a HVAC technician, refrigeration mechanic, or heating and cooling contractor is typically necessary.

3. AC Technician certification may be desirable depending on the employer's standards and requirements for technicians working with air conditioners and other high-volume mechanical systems in buildings.
