What is a AC Technician?

A AC Technician is a technician who repairs and maintains air conditioning systems. They are responsible for making sure the units work properly, diagnosing problems, and correcting them as needed.

What qualifications are required to become a AC Technician?

1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

2. Basic knowledge of AC systems and procedures is necessary, as well as an understanding of electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.

3. Experience in repairing or maintaining AC systems is a plus, though not required for the position title alone.

4. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings is essential for most technician positions, as are good communication skills both verbal and written; technicians must be able to describe repairs or modifications clearly to clients/owners without technical jargon). 5 . Must have unrestricted access to working with electricity (safe use of equipment requires certification from National Electrical Safety Code [NESC] organization).
