What is a AC Technician?

A AC Technician is a professional who specializes in repairing and maintaining air conditioning systems. They may also be responsible for installing new AC units, or troubleshooting problems with existing ones. AAC Technicians are typically required to have certification from the National Board of Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Certification (NBCC).

What qualifications are required to become a AC Technician?

1. Certification as an AC Technician from a nationally recognized organization such as the National Board of Examiners for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technicians (NBET).

2. Minimum two years experience in air conditioning or refrigeration installation, maintenance or repair work.

3. Knowledge of mechanical principles involved in air conditioning and refrigeration systems design, operation and repair.

4. Strong troubleshooting skills to locate and correct problems with system components including compressors, fans, valves etc..

5. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to coordinate repairs with other technicians

What are the skills required to become a AC Technician?

1. Knowledge of AC systems and components

2. Experience in repairing or replacing AC systems

3. Ability to read schematics and repair/replace parts correctly

4. Working knowledge of electricity, wiring diagrams, and tools required for repairs
