What is a AC Technician?

A AC Technician is a professional who repairs, maintains and installs air conditioning units. They must have knowledge in the area of HVAC systems as well as be able to troubleshoot issues when they arise.

What qualifications are required to become a AC Technician?

1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

2. Experience in home heating and cooling systems is preferred, but not necessary.

3 . Good problem solving skills are essential for the AC Technician position as many repairs require quick thinking and improvisation to get the system back up and running quickly.

4 . Knowledge of electrical wiring diagrams is also helpful, as technicians often need to know where wires go within a structure in order to properly repair an issue with an AC unit/solar panel etc...

5 . Mechanical aptitude (incluing ability to work on small engines) can be useful for certain positions such as service technician on solar panels or HVAC units since these machines tend have more moving parts than regular household appliances
