What is a AC Technician?

A AC Technician is a tradesperson who repairs and installs air conditioning units. They may also be responsible for troubleshooting issues with the unit.

What qualifications are required to become a AC Technician?

1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

2. Must be certified in AC maintenance by an accredited organization such as the National Air-Conditioning Contractors Association (NACCA).

3. Previous experience working with air conditioning systems and certification from a certifying body is preferred but not mandatory.

4. Ability to read, write, and understand basic mechanical engineering concepts are necessary for most technician roles/positions within AC units and HVAC systems overall.

5.. Good problem solving skills are essential; technicians must be able to identify problems, isolate them, research possible solutions, carry out repairs when needed, communicate effectively with others on the job site about their findings during repair work etc
