What is a AC Technician?

The AC technician is a person who repairs, maintains and installs air conditioning systems. They are usually trained in HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) repair or installation.

What qualifications are required to become a AC Technician?

1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required

2. Certification as an AC Technician from a recognized organization such as the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) is preferred

3. Minimum two years experience in installing, repairing and maintaining residential/commercial AC systems is necessary

4. Knowledge of electrical codes and installation procedures for commercial building installations is essential

5. Good problem solving skills are important

What are the skills required to become a AC Technician?
