What is a AC Technician?

AAC technician is a person who maintains and repairs air conditioning systems. They often work in commercial or industrial settings, where their job depends on the efficiency of the AC unit. As an AAC technician, you may need to know how to replace parts on an AC unit, fix malfunctions with filters or coils, or even troubleshoot problems that prevent proper cooling from taking place.

What qualifications are required to become a AC Technician?

1. A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

2. Must have at least 2 years experience in an AC installation, service or repair position and be knowledgeable in wiring practices for HVAC systems.

3. Familiar with common refrigerants such as R-134a/r-410A and HCFCs (such as HFC22)

4 Able to read blueprints, schematics and technical manuals relating to air conditioning systems

5 Be comfortable working with tools such as jigsaws, saws andrenches

What are the skills required to become a AC Technician?
