They ensure that all money transactions are recorded correctly, keep track of incoming and outgoing funds, and make sure that the correct taxes are paid. Additionally, they may also be responsible for managing company finances from a strategic standpoint or overseeing accounting software programs.
A college degree in accounting or business administration is required. Typically, accountants must have strong mathematical skills and be able to analyze data quickly. They also need good problem-solving abilities and a knowledge of financial statements. Some common certification exams for accountants include the CPA exam and the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.
1. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage deadlines and work independently
