A Accounts Admin is responsible for maintaining and administering an organization's accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting. They also work with the accounting department to ensure accurate earnings reports are submitted to investors or regulators. An Accounts Admin typically has a degree in business administration or finance.
1. Some experience in accounting or a related field is helpful, but not required.
2. Ability to use computers and office software is essential; familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Access are especially beneficial.
3. Thorough knowledge of financial reporting procedures is necessary, as well as the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions about expenditures and investments.
4 Strong communication skills are important—both writing reports accurately and persuasively, as well as working cooperatively with other departmental personnel (including auditors). 5 Good organizational skills also come in handy: Accounts Admins need to be able to keep track of multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize their workloads effectively, set deadlines consistently…and more!
