A Accounts Assistant is a position in which an individual assists the accounting department with various tasks. They may be responsible for preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, or providing support during audits.
1. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required for this position, as is strong attention to detail.
2. Previous accounting experience is a plus, but not necessary; depending on the company's needs an applicant may be able to start out as a Accounts Assistant without any prior experience at all.
3. Accuracy and precision in calculations are essential for success in this role, along with good problem-solving abilities when faced with unusual or difficult financial situations arise unexpectedly during work hours (ie: complex accounts receivable transactions).
4. The ability to stay calm under pressure while working extended hours is also highly desirable – Accounts Assistants often have heavy workloads that require them to keep up consistent pace throughout entire shifts/days alike, no matter what happens outside of their control (IE.: customer service issues preventing employees from completing their assigned tasks).
5. A willingness and aptitude for learning new things quickly – both within the organization itself where applicable knowledge bases change frequently, as well as in regards tot he ever-growing world of online banking & accounting software – will serve you well here since Account Assistants typically bear the brunt of frequent changes & updates mandated by businesses today
