A agriculture engineer is a professional who specializes in the design and management of agricultural systems. They work with farmers to help them improve their crops, livestock, and land. They also study new methods of farming so that food production can continue to grow while preserving natural resources.
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or a related field is required to become an agriculture engineer.
2. Agricultural engineers typically have experience working with crops and livestock, which can be beneficial when designing agricultural systems.
3. Agricultural engineering skills may include problem solving, numerical analysis, design principles, and software programs such as AutoCAD or Illustrator.
4. In order to practice as an agricultural engineer, graduates must obtain licensure from the state in which they wish to work (usually through passing a certification exam).
