What is a Aluminium Fitter?

An aluminium fitter is a tradesperson who specialises in working with aluminum. They may be employed by companies that produce or use aluminum products, or they may work for the government and carry out repairs on aircrafts and other large structures made from the metal. Aluminum fitters are typically skilled at using handsaws, torches, drills and other tools to remove parts of an object made from aluminum so that it can be replaced or repaired.

What qualifications are required to become a Aluminium Fitter?

1. Valid certification as an Aluminium Fitter from a recognized trade body such as the Australian Institute of Mechanical Engineers (AIMechE) is required.

2. Good understanding and experience with aluminium fabrication processes and equipment, including CNC machining centres or similar machines is desirable.

3. The ability to read blueprints accurately and work independently under pressure is also essential for this position.

4 Strong problem solving skills are necessary in order to identify potential issues with fabrications before they become serious problems, and then find solutions that meet project requirements while meeting deadlines.. 5 Excellent communication skills are important so that all parties involved in a metalworking project can understand what needs to be done, when it needs to be done, how it should be done, etc
