A mechanic who works on cars and trucks. They may do things like change a tire, oil a car, or diagnose problems with the vehicle.
In order to become a car mechanic, you will need an associate's degree in automotive or mechanical engineering. You will also need passed the National Automotive Technician Test (NATE) and be certified by one of the major auto mechanics organizations. Finally, you will likely require certification from your state as a diesel technician or heavy vehicle technician.
Some of the skills required to become a Auto/Car Mechanic include: strong problem solving abilities, excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, working knowledge of car mechanics tools and equipment, mechanical aptitude.

Maintains vehicles’ functional condition by listening to operator complaints and conducting inspections. Repairs mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replaces parts and components.
