What is a Auto/Car Mechanic?

A car mechanic is a person who fixes or services cars. They might work on engines, brakes, transmissions, and other mechanical components of the car. A lot of mechanics also do regular maintenance on vehicles to keep them running smoothly.

What qualifications are required to become a Auto/Car Mechanic?

1. Education - A high school diploma or equivalent is generally required to become a car mechanic. However, some states require certification from an accredited organization such as the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA).

2. Experience and Skills - As with most skilled trades, experience is key in becoming a successful auto/car mechanic. Many mechanics start out as apprentices before gaining full status within their trade organization or company. There are also many self-taught mechanics who have acquired extensive knowledge and skills through trial and error over time.

3. Tools & Equipment - Car Mechanics need access to various tools and equipment that help them diagnose automotive problems quickly and efficiently including diagnostic machines, jacks, wrenches etc… Some of these items can also be used for repairs on vehicles themselves!

4. Problem Solving Abilities – It goes without saying that good problem solving abilities are essential when it comes to being a car mechanic!
