Using CAD or AutoCAD to analyze existing tooling designs and improve on them. Developing blueprints for new tooling designs as per client or project specifications. Sharing designs with colleagues and implementing any relevant feedback in the new designs. Developing prototypes and testing new designs. Carrying out quality assurance tests on new designs. Traveling to manufacturing plants and factories to gather information and liaise with manufacturing and design teams. Creating blueprints and designs using CAD or AutoCAD. Negotiating with vendors and contractors to secure the best deals.

A AutoCAD Engineer is a software engineer who uses Autodesk's popular CAD program to create and modify designs. They may also be called mechanical or structural engineers, although the latter term might also refer to civil engineering specialists. A typical day for an AutoCAD Engineer includes working with various design files in order to produce accurate drawings that can then be used by other professionals in their field
-A valid AutoCAD license is required.
-Previous experience in engineering design or drafting software is beneficial, but not mandatory.
-Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects is essential.
- Excellent problem solving skills are a must as AutoCAD engineers often need to troubleshoot issues on their own.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities are also necessary because they will frequently be working with other departments within an organization.
