What is a Beautician?

A beautician is someone who specializes in hair and nails. They may also work with skin care products.

What qualifications are required to become a Beautician?

A person who wants to become a hair stylist or beautician generally needs an associate degree in cosmetology, beauty therapy, Barbering and/or Esthetician from accredited schools. Many states also require licensure of practitioners such as barbers and hairstylists. Some colleges offer programs specifically designed for becoming a beauty therapist which may not include the prerequisite courses required for other types of cosmetologists. Often certain experience is preferred, such as working at a salon before enrolling in school or gaining experience through volunteer work with organizations that focus on skin health like AIDS foundations

What are the skills required to become a Beautician?

1. Possess good customer service skills and be able to deal with difficult clients.

2. Have experience working in a salon or spa environment, preferably as a staff member.

3. Be skilled at using hair products and have knowledge of different hairstyles and techniques.

4. Know how to cut hair, style it, and apply makeup correctly – both for women and men .

5. Demonstrate an understanding of the anatomy of the face so that appropriate treatments can be administered
