What is a Block Mason?

A Block Mason is someone who specializes in creating and installing block walls.

What qualifications are required to become a Block Mason?

A. One must be a Master Mason and have passed the appropriate examination.

B. There is no specific qualification other than being an active, dues-paying member of a Masonic Lodge in good standing.

C. Knowledge of Freemasonry principles and practices is not necessary to become a Block Mason; however, candidates for this degree should demonstrate an understanding of basic masonic teachings through their involvement in lodge work or study programs offered by individual Masons clubs or lodges..

D. Candidates must meet certain age and citizenship requirements set forth by each jurisdiction where they seek membership In order to serve as both sponsor (for someone else seeking membership) and then attend the Degree ceremonies themselves . . . usually at least 21 years old with residency within that jurisdiction's borders for one year prior to petitioning for initiation into thedegree .. ."
