What is a Body Massage Therapist?

A body massage therapist is a healthcare professional who helps people with chronic pain, tension headaches, and other physical conditions by providing massage therapy. They may also offer acupuncture or other treatments to complement the massage. Bodymassages therapists typically have certification from one of the national organizations that specializes in Massage Therapy such as The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB). Many work at clinics or private practices.

What qualifications are required to become a Body Massage Therapist?

1. Certification in body massage therapy from an accredited professional organization such as the National Association of Massage Therapists (NAMT) or American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).

2. Minimum two years clinical experience working with clients experiencing various types and levels of pain.

3. Experience using a variety of massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point/energy work etc..

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - able to build rapport with patients while providing therapeutic services.

5. Demonstrated interest in helping people feel better through physical relaxation and stress relief

What are the skills required to become a Body Massage Therapist?

1. Knowledge in anatomy and physiology of the body

2. Experience working with massage clients

3. Ability to work effectively under pressure

4. Certification or licensure as a Body Massage Therapist from an accredited organization such as the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) or American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA)

5. Good communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills
