What is a Brick Mason?

A brick mason is someone who constructs or repairs bricks. A brick Mason typically works with clay, sand and water to create rectangular blocks of standardized size that are then assembled into structures like walls, flooring and roofs.

What qualifications are required to become a Brick Mason?

1. A Brick Mason must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.

2. A Brick Mason must be able to read and write English well enough to understand the instructions that they are given, as most brick masonry jobs require reading blueprints and/or specifications prior to starting work on a project.

3. Previous experience working with bricks is not required, but it would certainly help if you have some! Many brick companies offer apprenticeship programs where new hires can learn the trade from experienced workers.

4. Good hand-eye coordination is essential for becoming a successful Brick Mason; many projects include lifting heavy objects and using tools such as chisels and hammers in close quarters, so Dexterity and Strength are important attributes too!

5 . Knowing how to use safety equipment (gloves, eye protection) is also highly recommended because accidents do happen – even when following all of the proper safety guidelines !

What are the skills required to become a Brick Mason?

-A Brick Mason must be able to read and understand architectural drawings.

-They must have experience using a hammer, saw, chisel, drill, and mortiser.

-Brick Masons need to be strong enough to lift heavy objects and fast enough with their hands to complete the tasks at hand in a timely manner.

-The skills required for brick masonry include excellent eye/hand coordination as well as manual dexterity.
