What is a Building Electrician?

A building electrician is someone who installs, repairs and maintains electrical systems in buildings. They may work for a company that provides electrical services or they might be self-employed. Building electricians typically need an associate's degree or certification from an organization such as the National Board of Electrical Certification (NBEC). They must have excellent problem-solving skills and knowledge of electricity and wiring.

What qualifications are required to become a Building Electrician?

Building Electrician experience is preferred, but not required. A high school diploma or equivalent is generally sufficient. Applicants must have good problem-solving skills and be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
