What is a Building Electrician?

A building electrician is responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems in commercial buildings. They may also be called upon to install new wiring, fixtures and equipment. A building electrician typically holds a degree in engineering or related field, as well as experience working with electricity.

What qualifications are required to become a Building Electrician?

Building electricians need at least a high school diploma or equivalent, and certification from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in an electrical trade. They generally must also have three years of experience working with electrical systems, knowledge of construction standards, strong math skills, good problem-solving abilities and be able to read blueprints.

What are the skills required to become a Building Electrician?
