A Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and managing relationships with potential customers, clients or partners. They will work to identify new opportunities and develop business strategies that maximize company revenue. A BDM may also be involved in providing customer support, conducting market research, attending trade shows and networking events.
1. A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is generally required.
2. Previous experience working with businesses and developing relationships is often preferred.
3. Excellent communication and networking skills are essential; strong problem-solving abilities are also desirable.
4. Knowledge of financial accounting and investment analysis may be helpful as well as knowledge of the industry in which the company operates/sells its product/service.
