What qualifications are required to become a Butcher?

1. A minimum of 2 years experience in the meat industry is required to become a Butcher.

2. Must have certification from The American Meat Institute or equivalent, demonstrating knowledge and skills in butchering meats correctly.

3. Completely aware of safety protocols when handling raw meat products - always wear gloves, use proper cutting techniques and store foods properly to avoid cross contamination issues!

4.. Familiarity with different types of knives (chopping/slicing) is essential for success as a Butcher; training can be provided on-the-job if needed .
