1. Must have a valid food safety certification
2. Basic math skills including addition, subtraction and multiplication
3. Ability to read and understand written instructions
4. Working knowledge of meat cutting techniques
5. Good customer service skills
The skills required to become a Butcher vary depending on the position. However, all butchers require some level of cooking and math ability. Most also need good hand-eye coordination and an understanding of anatomy.
