A CAD/CAM Engineer is responsible for the design, manufacturing, and assembly of parts in a variety of industries. They may use computers to create detailed drawings or models that can be used to manufacture products more efficiently.
1. A degree in engineering is required.
2. CAD/CAM experience is a plus, but not necessary for this position.
3. Excellent problem-solving skills are important, as CAD/CAM engineers work with complex designs and software programs frequently.
4. Working knowledge of 3D modeling software (such as SolidWorks or Maya) is essential for many positions in the field; some employers also require proficiency with electronic drawing tools (Adobe Illustrator).
5 . Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem solving abilities are key qualities desired by most CAD/CAM engineers..
The skills required to become a CAD/CAM Engineer include: knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) and CAM software, experience with 3D printing technology, understanding of manufacturing processes, strong engineering intuition and creativity. In addition, the engineer must have excellent problem solving abilities and be able to work independently as well as collaboratively.

Good knowledge of drawing reading, tolerance & Standards • Drawing Knowledge & Tooling Knowledge must along with practical experience. • Must be technically sound and understand 2d and 3d drawings. • Knowledge of jigs and fixture (Compulsory) • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Solidworks/Delcam/ Solidcam/ Camworks/Mastercam (Solidcam preferable) and 3D Modeling & CAM Programming, All Tool Room activities. • Should have knowledge of various CNC machines • Controls. (Fanuc, Mazatrol, Sinumerik, Heidenhien etc.)
