A chef is a person who cooks and prepares food. They typically have Culinary Arts degrees or equivalent experience, and are skilled in the art of cooking from scratch using fresh ingredients. Chefs often work in professional kitchen settings, teaching others how to cook delicious meals.
1. A minimum of two years working experience in a professional kitchen is necessary to become a chef.
2. Excellent cooking skills are essential, as chefs must be able to prepare and cook meals from scratch using basic ingredients.
3. Must have strong organizational abilities and be detail-oriented, as restaurants often operate on very tight schedules.
4. Knowledge of French cuisine is usually required, as many upscale restaurants focus on classical dishes from that country..

Live-out Female Cook – Private Household An Emirati family of 5, is looking for a female cook to prepare meals for their household. Responsibilities: • Preparing weekly menus that consist of fresh, healthy and nutritious meals with consideration to the family members’ dietary needs • Storing food items and preparing meals in accordance with food health and safety regulations • Preparing meals for small dinner parties or special events • Preparing lunches for work/school and snacks for the kids • Grocery shopping and locating specialty items, such as dairy or gluten free products • Running, arranging and organising the kitchen and pantry • Overseeing the cleanliness, hygiene and sanitization of the kitchen and other related areas Requirements: • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in culinary arts or nutrition is preferred • At least 3 years of culinary experience is required • Working in a similar role with a private household is desirable • Knowledge of healthier alternative ingredients and meal preparation is a must • Experience of cooking several cuisines such as Emirati, Indian, Levantine, Western or Asian is preferred • Excellent organization, time-management skills and detail-orientation is required Facilities and support • Fully equipped kitchen with appliances • Support in organizing and cleaning the kitchen and related areas from an experienced live-in maid, with appropriate guidance
