A Chiller Technician is someone who specializes in maintaining and repairing chillers. They may also be responsible for installing, servicing, or diagnosing chillers.

What qualifications are required to become a Chiller Technician?

1. A minimum of 2 years experience in a chilled water environment is required to become a Chiller Technician.

2. Knowledge of chillers and their systems, including controls, hydraulics, insulation and air flow is essential for this position.

3. Experience with HVAC equipment installations or troubleshooting will be beneficial as well as knowledge of refrigeration units and components ( compressors/turbines etc).

4. Excellent math skills are also necessary because many calculations must be made pertaining to chilling methods and system performance charts .

5. Ability to read blueprints or technical manuals thoroughly is important since technicians often have to diagnose problems onsite
