What is a Chiller Technician?

A Chiller Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing chillers used in the food industry. They must have good knowledge of refrigeration systems, and be able to troubleshoot problems quickly. They may also need to know how to operate machinery safely.

What qualifications are required to become a Chiller Technician?

To become a Chiller Technician, you will need to have an Associate's degree in mechanical engineering or refrigeration and air conditioning technology. You will also need 2 years of experience working with chillers, and certification from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) or another nationally recognized certifying body.
