What is a Civil Supervisor?

A civil supervisor is a person who is responsible for overseeing and directing the work activities of other employees in a government or private organization. They may be assigned to departments such as human resources, payroll, accounting, or facilities management.

What qualifications are required to become a Civil Supervisor?

1. A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, public works administration, or related field is required.

2. Two years of supervisory experience are required with a construction company or government organization involved in large scale infrastructure projects such as road and bridge construction.

3. Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to lead teams are essential since supervision typically involves working closely with contractors on various project phases.

4 Strong written and oral communication abilities are necessary for both verbal instructions to subcontractors as well as issuing reports back to management at regular intervals during the course of a project completion timeline (typically quarterly).

5 Supervision also often includes acting as an intermediary between contractor claims/complaints/issues etc…and management ensuring that all parties concerned have adequate information about what is happening on site so that resolution can be pursued effectively
