What is a Cleaner?

A cleaner is someone who cleans or maintains a public space. They may clean the floors, walls, windowsills and other surfaces in the area.

What qualifications are required to become a Cleaner?

1. A Cleaner must be able to keep a clean work area.

2. A Cleaner must be patient and have good organizational skills.

3. A Cleaner must be able to handle unclean materials safely and properly dispose of them in accordance with regulations or company policies.

4. A Cleaner should have a valid driver's license and excellent written, verbal, and motor skill abilities; some cleaning jobs may require lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally).

5. Some employers may also prefer applicants who are certified through the National Domestic Chemical Safety Board (NDSB) or American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) programs
