What is a Content Writer & Editor?

A content writer & editor is someone who helps create and edit written material. This can include anything from articles to website copy, but generally falls into two categories: editorial writing (writing that informs or persuades) and creative writing (writing that expresses creativity). A good editor will have a strong understanding of grammar, style, and editing principles; a content writer should also be able to capture the audience’s attention with clear language and interesting ideas.

What qualifications are required to become a Content Writer & Editor?

1. Experience writing and editing content for a web or print publication.

2. Fluency in written English, including the ability to write clearly and concisely about complex subjects.

3. Proven experience managing editorial projects from start to finish, including developing outlines, researching information sources, drafting articles/blog posts/tutorials etc., and overseeing final production of the content piece(s).

4. Strong knowledge of online publishing platforms (e.g., WordPress) and basic understanding of SEO techniques necessary for optimizing published content for search engine visibility*.
