What is a Continental Cook?

A Continental cook is someone who specializes in French cuisine. They may have learned their trade in France or another continental European country, and bring that knowledge to American kitchens. Continental cooks often work with a variety of sauces and flavors, which can be tricky to replicate at home. Some common ingredients used by continental cooks are herbs, spices, garlic, cream sauce (often made from milk or heavy cream), and wine.

What qualifications are required to become a Continental Cook?
