What is a Cook?

A cook is someone who prepares food using basic cooking skills. A cook may work in a restaurant, hotel, or home kitchen.

What qualifications are required to become a Cook?

Minimum qualifications for a Cook are some form of hands-on cooking experience, good communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Many cooks start off as line cooks or prep workers before moving up in the culinary hierarchy.
