What qualifications are required to become a Cook?

1. Good physical stamina and manual dexterity in handling knives, pots and pans.

2. Patience and willingness to work under pressure as well as a good sense of smell for detecting foods that are spoiling or have gone bad.

3. Strong work ethic with the ability to stay calm under difficult circumstances while cooking food safely for others.

4. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written as they will be communicating recipes, instructions or complaints to guests directly or through a supervisor/managerial staff member overseeing their shift(s).

5. Some experience working in an establishment where cookware, ingredients etc., is stored on-premises (e g restaurants) would also be beneficial

What are the skills required to become a Cook?

1. Knowledge of basic kitchen techniques such as boiling water, frying eggs, making a sandwich etc.

2. Good communication and organizational skills – it is important to be able to work well in a team setting and manage various tasks simultaneously
