What is a Cook?

A cook is someone who prepares food in a kitchen. They might make breakfast, lunch, or dinner for the people living in their home. A cook also may be responsible for cleaning up after themselves and preparing the next meal.

What qualifications are required to become a Cook?

1. A desire to cook and work in the kitchen is required.

2. Experience working in a restaurant or catering setting is preferred but not necessary.

3. Good communication, organizational skills, and time management are essential qualities for a Cook as they will be needed to coordinate various aspects of cooking including scheduling staff and planning menus/food prep times accordingly. 4. The ability to keep up with quick-paced environments and stay focused under pressure while maintaining accuracy is also important; many cooks often have prior experience working in fast paced kitchens such as those found at restaurants or caterers.. 5 . Some basic knowledge about food science (elements etc) would also be beneficial since mostcooks require some level of culinary training before being hired on full-time basis

What are the skills required to become a Cook?

-The ability to read and follow a recipe accurately.

-The ability to think on your feet and come up with new recipes or alter old ones according to what is available.

-Strong basic cooking skills such as knowing how to chop vegetables, fry eggs, etc.

-A good sense of smell and taste so that you can judge when something is cooked correctly or not.

- The willingness and capacity for long hours in the kitchen - often times cookware needs regular cleaning!
