What is a Cook?

A cook is someone who prepares food for others. They might work in a restaurant, or at home cooking for their family. A cook may also be called a chef, hostess/host, pantry worker, busser/barista and many other job titles.

What qualifications are required to become a Cook?

1.A good understanding of kitchen anatomy and how to prepare food properly.

2. Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and responsively in a busy kitchen setting.

3. Strong attention to detail when preparing meals or desserts; must be able to follow recipes precisely without deviations or improvisations.

4. Must have excellent manual dexterity and the ability to move around large cooking surfaces with ease (eccentricities may be tolerated).
